Position Summary

Pikes Peak United Way is seeking a full time Community Specialist to work in their exciting 2-1-1 Information & Referral Center.  Applicant must be committed to improving the lives of all those who live in the Pikes Peak region.  This position will respond to callers, collect information and demographics, and provide appropriate referrals to individuals seeking health and human services information.  Position will require you to keep all client information strictly confidential while working in a call center environment.  Community Specialists will maintain partner agency information including contacting agencies, generating reports, data entry, updating, faxing, mailing, and sharing of information.  Community Specialists will also work face to face extensively with agencies and public organizations.  Additional responsibilities will include general PPUW activities and performance of other administrative duties as needed.  2-1-1 Community Information & Referral Center hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.   

Requirements:

Education: Associates degree required 

Experience:        3-5 years relevant experience 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

                  Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

                  Microsoft Office skills at Intermediate level or better

                  Data Entry/Maintenance experiences a plus

                  Type 35-40 w.p.m

                  Strong communication skills, verbal and written, are required

                  Active listening skills and crisis intervention skills

                  Knowledge of human service delivery system in Colorado Springs a plus

                  Able to handle multiple tasks.  Detail oriented

                  Community involvement a plus 

The successful candidate must pass a criminal and credit background check. 

RESPONSIBLE TO:                        2-1-1 Center Supervisor

SALARY RANGE:                           Hourly rate based on level of experience
