With the expectations of both volunteers and nonprofit leaders changing and advancing, how are the rules of engagement evolving? In this fast paced, research-based workshop, we will explore the rules of engagement and how your organization can rewrite them in order to leverage volunteer’s time and talent strategically to increase your impact.
We will explore eight best practices for engagement today and give participants the chance to assess how their organization stacks up against these leading practices. Through case studies of real-life innovations, detailed metrics for success, and tools that participants can take home and begin to apply immediately in their work, we will go in-depth into at least four of these practices. Participants will have the chance to hone their new skills by brainstorming solutions to common “sticky situations” that they or others have experienced.
Participants will gain tools and learn tactics to enhance their efforts in cultivating volunteers, supporting and holding volunteers accountable, training volunteers, designing effective policies and employing technology.
* If you attended the Why Reinvent the Wheel? Best Practices from Real World Case Studies breakout session at the Nonprofit Day conference, this workshop will enhance what you learned there. If you didn’t, it will be a comprehensive overview and a chance to apply the practices, as well.
